Africa Prudential Plc’s Board of Directors has nominated Mrs. Catherine Uzoamaka Nwosu as the company’s new Managing Director and CEO. This was stated in the company’s notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited and other stakeholders regarding changes in leadership beginning February 28, 2024.
The nomination, which takes effect on March 1, 2024, follows Mr. Obong Idiong’s departure as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer to take on further duties. While acknowledging Mr. Idiong’s resignation, the Board expressed gratitude for his remarkable contributions to the Company’s growth and wishes him success in his future pursuits.
According to Africa Prudential Plc’s Company Secretary, Joseph Jibunoh, Mrs. Nwosu brings a lot of expertise as a prominent Capital Market Executive. She is currently the 2nd Vice President of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars (ICMR) and has displayed excellent leadership throughout her career.
Mrs. Nwosu previously worked as the Head of Stakeholder Engagement at BUA Group. Her involvement with Africa Prudential Plc began in 2006, and she served in a variety of capacities, most notably as Chief Operating Officer (COO) from 2010 and 2022.
Nwosu graduated from the Lagos Business School’s Senior Management Program, is a Fellow of the Institute of Capital Market Registrars, and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants. She also possesses degrees in Business Administration, including an MBA.
According to the release, the Board believes Mrs. Catherine Uzoamaka Nwosu’s appointment will strengthen Africa Prudential Plc’s commitment to excellence and long-term growth.
