Microsoft is ready to support about 10 million African small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Since SMEs make up 90% of businesses, Microsoft will give the necessary assistance required to advance their business and establish professional networks through Microsoft’s empowerment plans by 2025.
The initiative is a five-year partnership in collaboration with Nigerian fintech Flurterwave. According to Lillian Barnard, President of Microsoft Africa, the collaboration with the African giant fintech would boost the financial transformation and digital inclusion of Africa.
Through the initiative, Flutterwave will create transactable services on Azure Marketplace together with its SMB finance-as-a-service which will allow it to expand to more customers.
Olugbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave explained that part of Flutterwave’s mission is to serve the continent’s populace seamlessly and to establish a framework that will make online transactions easy for customers both in Africa and globally.
