Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Oladele Alake, reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s plan to make solid minerals the chief support of the nation’s economy as the value of oil depreciates globally.
He disclosed this yesterday in Abuja following the launching of the Nigerian Minerals Resource Decision Support System (NMRDSS) to enhance flawless technology communication efficiency, accuracy and accessibility in the mining sector.
Dr Oladele postulated that the sole purpose of the administration is to see to the increase of the even contribution of the mining sector to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Nigeria, thus making it surpass what the oil is bringing to the national treasury.
Dr. Oladele quoted: Oil is diminishing globally. God’s willing, minerals are rising. The conclusion of the development of our administration’s resourcefulness becomes evident when the outcome becomes evident across the board.
Disclosing the Nigerian Minerals Resource Decision Support System (NMRDSS), Dr. Oladele proclaimed the country had to divert from oil to solid minerals. As well as diverting the dependency on fossil oil to solid.
Nevertheless, Dr Oladele stated that the sector’s investors and players find it burdensome to access sketchy information on the sector. Consequently, the administration has initiated an initiative to provide and promote technological communication and accessibility in the mining sector.
Dr. Oladele stated that the platform would cut the cost of investment research in the sector and provide the necessary information to enlighten investors and help them make prudent decisions.
“From the comfort of your office around the world, you can access the Nigerian Minerals Resource Decision Support System website and behold the data that would have cost you air tickets to access some months ago.
The importance of this software is apparent. Apart from cutting expensive costs, it cuts through the maze of information storage, which has been dreadful to investors.
Stakeholders in the sector witnessed the inauguration.
