MDOC AND PHARMARUN AMONG 5 AFRICAN STARTUPS CHOSEN FOR GOOGLE AI FOR HEALTH INITIATIVE

Nigeria’s mDoc and PharmaRun are among 5 African startups featured in the 2023 Google for Startups Growth Academy AI for Health program. These startups are posed to solve health challenges with artificial intelligence.

Google also selected other startups from Europe and the Middle East after a stringent procedure that started in May this year. Utilizing innovations such as AI to address serious health issues will ensure global access to health information.

On the initiative, Yuval Passov, the Head of Google for Startups, expressed delight at the vision of Africa’s health startups regarding utilizing AI technology. He said that “Africa’s innovative spirit in the AI for Health domain is profoundly inspiring. These startups are a testament to the continent’s ability to develop global health solutions. We aim to stand alongside them, offering support and partnership as they strive to scale and disseminate their groundbreaking solutions.”

This initiative shows Google’s dedication to assisting startups and boosting their development. In August, the tech giant disclosed the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First program—a 10-week free accelerator.
