ABSA BANK PROVIDES CARD SOLUTION FOR TRAVEL AGENTS AND BUSINESSES

Absa Bank, a Kenyan commercial bank, has collaborated with Visa to develop the Visa Commercial Choice Programme, a new Corporate Card option. This card simplifies payment methods while improving financial management and cash flow control efficiency. It’s a specialized card for travel agents connecting with the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) and businesses.

KATA, which includes over 300 travel agents, will profit from a new system that allows them to pay in either Kenyan Shillings or US dollars. They can also automate their booking processes and implement more efficient data and financial management solutions. A component also allows them to build reports to keep track of their financial information.

Eva Ngigi-Sarwari, the Kenya Visa Manager, expressed their happiness over collaborating with Absa Bank Kenya and KATA on this project. It shows they all care about convenience and providing excellent service. By leveraging Visa’s global network, superior technology, and Absa Bank Kenya’s experience in the local industry, this new payment option will help improve the efficiency and security of travel agent transactions.

Nicanor Sabula, CEO of KATA, stated that the card has some excellent characteristics:

  1. Clients can pick between virtual and physical cards, giving them different choices.
  2. It contains a feature called Visa Commercial Pay, simplifying paying travel providers such as airlines and hotels. This makes paying them faster and easier.
  3. It is supposed to make keeping track of payments easier by automating the process, resulting in less payment effort for consumers and greater efficiency.

On the other hand, Moses Muthui, the Absa Bank consumer banking director, said they’re teaming up with Visa and the Kenya Association of Travel Agents to help businesses and make digital payments more accessible for more individuals.

“We have been consulting with our clients and professionals from many industries to understand their individual needs, and this new solution is just one of several that we are rolling out for our customers across multiple disciplines,” he stated.
