Alibaba holds Cohort II of its Netpreneur Program to train more than 360 African Entrepreneurs

Alibaba Global Initiative (AGI), a professional subsidiary of Alibaba group that is concerned with the professional training of individuals has recently started its second edition of the Netprenuer program in conjunction with Africa’s Business Heroes prize competition, a benevolent initiative that supports and inspires African entrepreneurs and has since signed up more than 360 African entrepreneurs.

About the Program

Alibaba Netpreneur virtual training program which commenced on October 11, 2022, and will carry on till November 10, 2022, with its primary goal of equipping and supporting entrepreneurs and business leaders from different industries with functional and detailed step-by-step approaches to excel in the digital economy. It was launched after the successful completion of an inaugural class that was held last October with 70 African student graduates.

Following strict selection procedures, candidates are chosen from all over Africa and will enroll in a series of online classes to master and apply different approaches to digitize and grow business in the local economy.

Participants are allowed from various industries like agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), trading, and education as a founder of their startups.

Participants will broaden their knowledge of China’s digital economy, the latest trends, and practices affecting its growth, experiences from other global organizations that were able to transform to the digital economy, and the evolution of Alibaba’s business, and an e-commerce certificate will be issued at the end of the program.

Reports from Dan Liu, senior advisor at Alibaba Global Initiative says “we are pleased to be able to continue to develop and revolutionize our vision of impacting positively in transforming entrepreneurs into the digital economy and enrolling in the second edition of our program for African participants. With organizations moving to online channels to remain relevant in their respective industries during the pandemics, digitalization is no longer a strange term to entrepreneurs and business owners “we hope that this edition of our Alibaba Netpreneur program will help African entrepreneurs in developing long-term, savvy digital strategies that will open more opportunities for them.
