On March 12, 2024, the Financial Times reported that the Nigerian Economic for Financial Crime Commission agency had asked Binance to list its 100 top users in Nigeria and a record of all transaction in the past six months.

This request is central to negotiations between Binance and Nigeria before the escapade of one of the executives.
