Access Bank launched two customer credit cards, namely, the American Express Gold card and the Metal Platinum Card, thus preserving their reputation as the country’s most ingenious bank as these cards are the first to be furnished in Nigeria and West Africa.
With this innovation, the Bank has advanced its products for their individual and market consumer types who can start to gain profits from the initiative of being members.
The unique ‘Centurion’ icon with the global American Express card design is part of the features on the Gold and Platinum cards.
American Express or third parties authorized by American Express furnish these types of cards too abroad giving the same type of assistance and satisfaction to members.
Credit card operations are now possible in the country through Access Bank.
Starting from Tuesday, June 13th, 2023, interested consumers through applications and invitations can start operating the cards and reaping the benefits of operations as announced by Herbert Wigwe, Group Managing Director, Access Holdings.
Mr. Wigwe also quoted that,”We are a bank of many firsts. We do have a wide network and with this partnership, AMEX will have 60 million customers supporting this partnership. It is a massive endorsement for us to work with AMEX in this partnership.”
The Retail South, Access Bank Deputy Managing Director, Chizoma Okoli, said that the launch of the card is evidence of the fact that Access Bank is the most ingenious bank in the country.
She went on to categorically state, “We are always at the forefront in the banking sector here in Nigeria and this is our newest innovation as we lead others. You can see these AMEX cards anywhere in Nigeria except here at Access. I know our customers who are going to reap the benefits will be proud of us”.
The Deputy Managing Director, Retail North, Victor Etiokwu further buttressed by saying that the collaboration with American Express will certainly not be the only one.
Mr. Etiokwu also said that “In the payment world, it is important to have varieties and as a financial sector supermarket, we have varieties of lovely items for the benefit of our customers. AMEX is a unique brand and we have always wanted to have them on our portfolio and we are glad this has become a reality. We will continue to collaborate with AMEX.”
Apart from the benefit of the twofold money use i.e., Naira/Dollar and global receipt, other benefits of the American Express cards are loyalty points, airport lounge entrance, car hire service, bonus for members, and safeguard.
Some other benefits with regards to the Platinum Card include extra customer satisfaction at the airport lounge including being part of the American Express Global Lounge Collection which grants you free entry to over 1,400 other airport lounges.
Through The Hotel Collection and Fine Hotels + Resorts, there are Hotel benefits and improvements, a unique status entry in the Hilton Honours, Radisson Rewards, and Marriott Bonvoy rewards schemes.
In addition, free-of-charge entry to hotel membership schemes, with Tablet Plus membership and Mr & Mrs. Smith Gold status, 24/7 travel and lifestyle concierge services.
The Vice president and General Manager of the Network Partnership EMEA, American Express Briana Wisley, lauded Access Bank for being the only bank that qualified in all respect with regard to their requirements for partnership and expressed his joy at working with the bank during the launch.
