Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2023 has named Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) as the best Bank in Nigeria. Making it the 12th time GTB has been awarded as the leading financial institution in Nigeria.
According to Euromoney, GTB has been excellence in terms of customer service, and the good job at convincing investors that it is better placed than its key competitors to deal with the risks ahead—and perhaps to take advantage of opportunities in economic and policy transition.
The bank has continued to deliver outstanding outcomes as the flagship franchise of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, despite the unfavourable operating environment. GTB recorded a profit before tax of ₦214.2 billion, pre-tax Return on Equity (ROAE) of 23.6 per cent, and Cost to Income Ratio (CIR) of 48.0 per cent for the period ended December 31, 2022.
However, Euromoney has been the leading edge for international banking and financial markets and the yearly awards for Excellence celebrates financial institutions that exercise leadership, creativity, and flexibility in the markets they operates. The latest recognition confirms that Guaranty Trust is the number one financial institution in Nigeria.
Mrs. Miriam Olusanya, the Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Ltd, also commented on the Award by expressing his gratitude for the recognition as the Best Bank in Nigeria by Euromoney. She, however noted that the recognition was in honour of the bank’s unwavering commitment to customers which is the foundation of a successful institution, and it has helped GTB achieve great things for over 30 years. As a part of a growing financial group, the bank will continue to focus on providing excellent service and developing innovative products, while maintaining strong financial results.
