Telecommunications company, MTN GlobalConnect has declared two Managing Directors’ designations for their operations in Uganda and Nigeria.

The Managing Director position will be taken by Juliet Nsubuga for Uganda branch; this will take effect from the 1st of April, 2023. The Managing Director position for the Nigerian branch of the company was assigned to Josephine Sarouk, and this will take effect from the 1st of March, 2023.

The CEO of MTN GlobalConnect, Frederic Schepens welcomed the newly appointed leaders into the team as he looks forward to their intellectual impartation and experience.

Their experience over the years:

With over twenty years experience in the telecommunications circle and her dated position as General Manager of Wholesale and Carrier Services for the Ugandan branch, Nsubuga holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters in Economic Policy and Planning, Makerere University. Additionally, she is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom.

Sarouk has over 14 years experience in the telecoms sector; he focused on ICT, Enterprise Sales, Wholesale, Digital and Marketing. She was the General Manager of MTN Nigeria, since 2017, where she joined the Regional Operations of Lagos and South West. Sarouk holds a Bachelor (Hons) in Journalism and Law, University of West London and a postgraduate certificate in Business Administration and Management, University of Wales. 

These designations is aimed at creating more progress in MTN GlobalConnect’s change journey which has heralded the recent appointment of its Kenyan branch Managing Director position for Silvia Anampiu and Zambian branch Managing Director position for Lillian Mutwalo.

MTN GlobalConnect’s ambition is to fix cellular connectivity and global mobile services via wholesale. Nsubuga and Sarouk’s appointment is to encourage female leadership seats that will guarantee the well positioning of MTN GlobalConnect. This appointment is expected to match MTN GlobalConnect’s GrowAfrica initiative to speed up Africa’s digital economy.
