OIL MARKETERS TO COLLABORATE WITH DANGOTE REFINERY FOR NATIONWIDE FUEL DISTRIBUTION

The Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), comprising seven critical players in the oil industry, has successfully engaged with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to purchase and distribute refined petroleum products. This pivotal collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency and reach of fuel distribution across Nigeria.

The information was relayed through an official post on the X platform, the former Twitter, by the Office of the Special Adviser on Social Media to President Bola Tinubu. According to the post, MOMAN members are finalizing commercial terms with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, after which they will distribute nationwide fuel.

Prominent members of MOMAN set to play a pivotal role in the distribution of petroleum products from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery include 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail. The refinery can load up to 2,900 trucks daily at its state-of-the-art truck-loading gantries.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is gearing up to engage in discussions with the refinery to establish loading terms. Additionally, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has been actively involved in talks with the Dangote Petroleum Refinery regarding the supply of products from this cutting-edge facility.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has already commenced producing diesel and aviation fuel. With a staggering investment in the multi-billion dollar range, the facility has already received a substantial 6 million barrels of crude oil at its two Single Point Moorings (SPMs), strategically located 25km from the shore. Notably, the first oil delivery to the refinery occurred on December 12, 2023, followed by subsequent cargos, with the latest delivered on January 8, 2024.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery adheres to regulations set by the World Bank, US EPA, European emission norms, and the Department of Petroleum Resources emission/effluent norms, employing cutting-edge technology. Products from this facility are guaranteed to meet Euro V specifications. Once distribution operations commence, the refinery is poised to load an impressive 2,900 trucks daily.
