UAE to Lift Visa Ban on Nigerians Soon

UAE set to lift visa ban on Nigerians. The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has unveiled the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government’s plan to lift the visa ban imposed on Nigerian travelers soon.

Keyamo revealed this in a 44-minute interview with Otega Ogra, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu, published on the official YouTube page of the State House of Nigeria.

He noted that a resolution was reached between President Bola Tinubu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during President Tinubu’s working visit to the UAE in September 2023.

Keyamo stated that the UAE intended to meet additional processes UAEs before the ban could be officially lifted. However, the Nigerian government met all requirements and completed all processes, paving the way for an imminent announcement from the UAE government.

He further mentioned, “After that high-level meeting, Mr. President, credited to him, made things very easy for us all. We did our follow-ups as his ministers. We have done everything. We have resolved everything. Just wait for the UAE government’s announcement, which is imminent.

Knowing the date the travel restriction will be lifted, Keyamo said it is better and more appropriate for the UAE government to make the official announcement. The lifting of the ban is expected to enhance a seamless travel process for Nigerian citizens to the UAE, thereby fostering bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
