Egyptian recruitment startup, Talents Arena, has achieved a significant milestone by raising $750,000 in pre-seed funding from UI Investments, with participation from various Saudi Arabian and Egyptian angel investors.
Talents Arena, established in 2019 by Aya Elgebeely, focuses on streamlining the hiring process for organizations across the Middle East and North Africa. Over the past two years, the startup has facilitated the successful placement of numerous candidates in tech-related positions, earning it a reputation as a key player in the regional talent acquisition landscape.
Operating in countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Uganda, Germany, and the Netherlands, Talents Arena has showcased its ability to match talents with opportunities across borders. The company had previously secured $100,000 from Flat6Labs and NilePreneurs, and it now signals its intention to raise $2 million for further expansion.
Elgebeely, serving as the startup’s CEO, highlighted that Talents Arena leverages artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate the intricate hiring process. Their innovative model benefits both hiring managers and job seekers, facilitating optimal opportunity discovery. The startup’s revenue generation strategy encompasses subscription and commission fees. By the end of 2020, the company had already generated more than $65,000 in revenue.
Elgebeely expressed the significance of this funding influx, noting, “This funding milestone enables us to accelerate the development of our AI hiring engine and expand our footprint in the Saudi market that already accounts for 25% of our client base. We are excited to bring our cutting-edge technology to businesses across industries in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, helping hiring managers and recruiters find talents faster with higher accuracy and at a better economical value.”
