KENYAN POLICE BLOWS BINANCE EXECUTIVE, ANJARWALLA’S HIDEOUT

The Kenya Police Service has arrested the escapee Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, who fled from the custody of the Nigeria police force.

One of the government sources familiar with the case, on anonymity, revealed on Sunday, April 21, 2024, that the Nigerian government and the International Criminal Police Organisation of Kenya are planning to extradite him to Nigeria within the week.

The sources stated, “The Kenya Police Service has arrested Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla, and he will be extradited to Nigeria this week by INTERPOL.”

Reiterating prior information, the government source stated that the Nigerian government had made it a duty to ensure Anjarwalla was re-arrested and deported to Nigeria immediately. Now, he is glad about the positive outcome.

Presently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, alongside other forces, including the International Criminal Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service, are in closed-doors deliberating to fasten Anjarwalla’s extradition.

A report from an anonymous source stated, “We have found him. We know where he is; he is in Kenya, and we’re working with the authorities to bring him back to Nigeria.

“All hands are on deck; the government and all the security agencies are working hard in conjunction with the Kenyan authorities and INTERPOL to ensure his return to Nigeria to face the charges brought against him.”

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed that the agency is working closely with several enforcement departments, including the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation, the International Criminal Police Organisation, Northern Ireland, the governments of the United Kingdom, and Kenya, to extradite Anjarwalla.

Olukoyede says the extraction of the Binance executive is a strong message to Nigerians on its pursuit to ensure a smooth hedge in the country’s forex market.
