The 2023 Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) will be held through the newly formed collaboration between United Nations and Sterling One Foundation.
The event will hold on the 10th and 11th of August 2023 in Lagos, and is aimed at converging major investors in African development industry. The event will welcome corporate heads, impact shareholders, and establishment specialists from different United Nations (UN) bodies and Contributors.
The CEO of Sterling One Foundation, Mrs. Olapeju Ibekwe said that, “other stakeholders expected at the event are leaders of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), heads of government parastatals, international investors, private equity firms, as well as members of the general public who have deeply invested in the growth and progress of Africans.”
The CEO added that “the Africa Social Impact Summit, is Sterling One Foundation’s flagship platform that collaboratively brings together all players in the African development space to share ideas, learnings, and plans to ensure the holistic achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030 and Agenda 2063).”
According to Mrs. Ibekwe, ASIS aims to provide different collective impact participants with the proper setup to engage in solutions to bordering on climate measures, circular wealth, fitness, training, youth empowerment, continuous power supply, and other industries.
The 2023 conference will focuse on creating a framework for agreed-on solutions in a detailed approach with the ability for long-term effects on Africa.
Mr. Matthias Schmale, the resident and Humanitarian coordinator for the United Nations in Nigeria, spoke on the collaboration saying that the gathering of the (ASIS) was apt and very pertinent.
Mr. Schmale is of the opinion that it has become dire to help the SDGs and boost their accomplishment in the country and all over Africa. He further said that the ASIS gives a perfect policy for important development investors in Nigeria and in Africa to survey how to forge ahead as one and search for simple solutions across the continent.
