Twitter is relaunching its blue tick subscription today, November 12, 2022 after suspending it last month because of impersonators and parody accounts.
This subscription will cost $8 per month for Android and web users and $11 for IOS users to compensate for Apple’s 30% commissions on in-app purchases.
To have the paid blue tick, users must have a registered phone number with the platform. .
Also, once an individual changes their handle, display name, and/or profile picture, the blue tick will be removed until Twitter is able to review the account again.
In addition to the blue tick check-mark, premium users will also enjoy other features such as the ability to edit tweets, upload videos of 1080p quality and access reader mode.
Twitter says that it would replace the official label it experimented with during the November Blue push with a new gold check-mark for businesses and a grey check-mark for government and multilateral accounts later this week.
This is in place for the grey check-mark beneath the blue verification tick that designates accounts as Official for select accounts.
