Business-minded youths, young scientists, and health tech pioneers now have an opportunity to birth their ideas and inventions through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO’s) Global Health Innovation Fellowship. This fellowship has created an avenue for tech, public health, and ideas fellowship to meet.
The program will take place at the Mumbai or New Delhi campuses of the India Institute of Technology (IIT). Chosen candidates will partner with the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology. These participants will undergo a 2-year residency.
The 2-year residency will combine technology, public health, and, intellectual property which focuses on enabling the youth with the skills required to carry out exceptional inventions in the medical field.
It will also furnish the candidates with the opportunity of discussing with a variety of international like-minded scientists and professionals, partnering to engage in modern health-associated challenges; thus, improving their 2 years stay in India.
To add to this improvement, they will also be able to create a significant network in India such as the Indian Department of Biotechnology, and the campuses of IIT Delhi, and Bombay. To further enhance their opportunity to boost their inventions and works, they will also be able to interact with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The overall package of the program includes study visa processing fees; fellowship fees; IIT overhead fees; study material costs; accommodation costs (for accommodation provided or recommended by the Department of Biotechnology); living expenses; health insurance; local transportation within India; and international travel (return ticket from home country to IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay).
